Job Description
Cloud & Automation Engineer
- Location: Bristol/Hybrid
- Salary Range: £48,000 - £55,000
- Job Type: Full-time
We are representing a prestigious client in the public sector who are seeking a Cloud & Automation Engineer to enhance their IT infrastructure and services through innovative cloud solutions and automation.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Act as a Capacity and Availability Manager for Azure services, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Integrate, test, and maintain cloud technologies and solutions, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Lead incident management efforts, coordinating effective responses and resolutions.
- Manage IT security and support business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
- Continuously improve IT service provision by optimizing processes and implementing best practices in cloud management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient in Azure/M365 technology stack, including Azure Active Directory and MS Intune.
- Experience with Cloud Management & Security - Policies, RBAC, ACL etc.
- Familiarity with Office 365 applications such as Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
- Skilled in monitoring, analytics, CI/CD, containers, automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledge of testing and cloud tools, serverless applications, and networking protocols.
- Understanding of configuration management, VMWare, and storage solutions.
- Proficient in PaaS and SaaS solutions and implementation.
- Strong Scripting and coding abilities, adhering to syntax standards, version control, and best practices.
- Experience in Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
- Solid generalist infrastructure background, including networks and systems administration.
- In-depth knowledge of IT security principles and their application.
