The Role:
As the Assistant Headteacher (English), you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting the English department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching:
Delivering high-quality English lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. - Leadership:
Assisting the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and management of the school, with a focus on the English department. - Curriculum Development:
Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement an engaging and challenging English curriculum. - Student Support:
Providing guidance and support to students, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals. - Staff Development:
Mentoring and supporting English department staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development. - Parental Engagement:
Building strong relationships with parents and carers to support student progress and well-being.
About You:
The ideal candidate would have:
- Qualifications:
A degree in English or a related field, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). - Experience:
Proven experience in teaching English at the secondary level, with a track record of excellent student outcomes. - Leadership Skills:
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students. - Communication:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with all members of the school community. - Passion:
A genuine passion for English education and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.
