Job Description

Member of the Domestic Homicide Review Quality Assurance Board

Location: Flexible within the United Kingdom, with meetings held remotely on MS Teams and at the Home Office, 2 Marsham Street in Central London on occasion.

Remuneration: The role is remunerated at £300 per day, based on an expected time commitment of up to 120 days per year.

As a member of the Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) Quality Assurance (QA) Board you will contribute to the operation and output of a committee composed of experts in safeguarding, homicide and public protection who will consider and provide feedback on whether a Domestic Homicide Review meets the statutory guidance and principles to be published. At all times you will need act in accordance with the Seven Principles of Public Life: The Seven Principles of Public Life - GOV.UK ()

The purpose of the DHR Quality Assurance Board is to: assess report standards, ensure the DHR statutory guidance has been adhered to; that the DHR Chair has engaged with appropriate agencies, organisations and family and friends to establish a full picture as possible; and that learning has been identified and the likelihood of further domestic abuse related deaths is minimised.

The Chair of the QA Board is a senior Home Office official and three board members are being recruited.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to: work collaboratively; critically analyse and synthesise evidence; draw on professional experience and knowledge in decision making; communicate effectively and confidently deal with difficult and sensitive situations.

This appointment will be for an initial period of three years.
