We are in need of a temporary Board and Governance Administrator to assist us for 3 months. We are looking for an organised and experienced individual who can take effective Board and Committee minutes, who is able to step into the role with minimal supervision.
Fixed term until 31 March 2025
Full time, 35 hours a week
Requests to work part time (minimum 28 hours a week) may be considered but have to be able to work on a Wednesday and Friday.
Location: Here East Press Centre, 14 East Bay Lane, London, E15 2GW with working from home most of the time.
The role primarily involves working from home, with occasional visits to the Here East office for Board meetings.
The role
We are looking to fill this position quickly, with a view to starting in January 2025.
The role will involve:
- Taking minutes at Board and its 5 Committees, preparing minutes after the meetings in a timely manner, and reviewing minutes before distribution
- Supporting, organising and attending well run and accessible Board and Committee meetings with agendas agreed, papers collated and distributed, and meetings managed
- Distributing post-meeting documents and actions, maintaining Action Logs for the Board and Committees and tracking pending action items before and after meetings.

From 1 April 2025, we intend to recruit a permanent Board and Governance Administrator. While assisting us, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to apply for this permanent position. Additionally, there is the possibility that the permanent role could evolve into an Assistant Company Secretary position, depending on the candidate's demonstrated skills and performance during their time at Scope.
About you
The ideal candidate should have the following knowledge and experience:
- Proven experience as a Board Administrator or similar executive support role
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with virtual meeting platforms
- Discretion and confidentiality
