Academics is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive 2-form entry school community in Waltham Forest, London starting in January 2025. The school is committed to ensuring all students receive the support they need to succeed, both academically and socially. To be successful in this role you must:

  • Have relevant experience supporting children in Year 3, preferably within a school setting.
  • Be passionate about helping students in Key Stage 2 achieve their full potential and be able to adapt your approach to meet individual learning needs.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both with students and staff, and be able to build strong relationships with children.
  • Have a strong understanding of the Year 3 curriculum and be able to assist with the delivery of engaging lessons.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting the emotional and social development of children.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students in Year 3, helping them engage with the curriculum, and providing one-to-one or small group interventions where necessary. You will work closely with the class teacher and other staff to implement learning strategies and ensure students are supported in their academic journey. Your role will also include assisting in creating a nurturing environment that promotes positive behaviour and social development.
