Exide Technologies' Energy Solutions division is developing and manufacturing stationary energy storage batteries, from backup power to large-scale storage systems (BESS and C&I). Exide's technology portfolio spans from multiple lead-acid over to lithium-ion technologies supporting the global energy transition and digitalization. Our storage systems are used in UPS, Telecom, Datacenters, Public Transport, in Front-of- and Behind-the-Meter applications and many more.

For our growing division Energy Solutions in Büdingen (nearby Frankfurt am Main) at the earliest possible date we are looking for a:

Quality and EHS Manager (m/f/x)

Join our team in Büdingen - catchment area Frankfurt, Hanau, Gelnhausen, Gießen, Aschaffenburg.

Reporting to the Senior Director Operations of Energy Solutions, the role is operationally leading and managing the Quality and EHS Methodology of our manufacturing plants and distribution centres with a zero defective philosophy. This also includes the supplier Quality management.

The position is the key front end to our customers and to translate specific market requirements into our manufacturing and distribution footprint.

The Quality and EHS Manager is closely working with the Quality and EHS organization embedded in the manufacturing plants and cooperates closely with all other key stakeholders, such as Sales, R&D, Procurement and Supply Chain.

What will your daily responsibilities include in this role?

  • Manage, audit and continuously improve harmonized Quality strategies, methodologies and policies within our production and distribution facilities
  • Customer dialogue and communication, including analysis of customer requirements and product claims
  • Internal and external Quality and EHS Trainings
  • Drive supplier quality audits
  • Manage, audit and continuously improve harmonized EHS strategies, methodologies and policies within our production and distribution facilities
  • KPI dashboards for Quality and EHS

What we ask for:

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Physics, Chemistry, or in a comparable discipline with a minimum of 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar Quality and EHS focused role
  • Theoretical and practical experience in state-of-the-art quality methodologies such as Six sigma, Statistics, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, Control Plans, 8D, etc., with the ability to train and coach those
  • Proven experience in coordinating and leading quality audits (process, product, systems, customer)
  • Expertise in ISO standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office. Statistical Tools etc.
  • Knowledge and Experience in Regulatory Health and Safety
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across all functions and levels within the organization
  • Readiness to travel to our plants, DCs and suppliers
