Process Engineer Turning & Milling
Oerlikon Eldim (NL) B.V. - Part of Oerlikon Metco - manufactures and processes components for aircraft engines and industrial gas turbines. Eldim utilizes advanced technologies such as electrical discharge machining (EDM), electrochemical machining, CNC turning, and milling. The 140 employees in the Netherlands work in self-managing teams and are responsible for their own production and quality assurance. The Eldim group consists of three locations: Eldim Lomm (NL), Eldim Debrecen (HU), and Neomet (EN).
For our facility in Lomm, we are looking for a Process Engineer Turning & Milling
Functie-eisen
We are seeking a candidate capable of independently developing and managing processes. The responsibilities in this role are diverse, ranging from assessing specifications to performing turning and milling operations and evaluating results. Additionally, the candidate must consider various industrial and governmental regulations.
As the technical lead for this part of the production, you will have full process responsibility and be able to train and guide shop floor employees as needed. You will stay informed about the latest developments in your field and maintain a network of suppliers and peers for consultation. You will work closely with a team of Process Engineers and Lead Engineers. Each Process Engineer has their own discipline, while the Lead Engineers are responsible for overseeing the production process. Together with them, you will conduct risk assessments related to the final product.
The role of the Process Engineer is to achieve a flawless process in collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, and Operators, based on customer specifications. The Process Engineer ultimately makes decisions based on risk management, using tools like FMEA and statistical process control. Additionally, the Process Engineer handles technical communication with the customer in their area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate is capable of:
- Coordinating customer specifications with specialists and the Operations and Quality departments.
- Assessing the feasibility and consequences of technical issues.
- Setting up initial samples and incorporating the resulting information into new proposals for the Lead Engineer and production.
- Estimating required time and planning it with Operations, considering personal projects and goals.
- Monitoring technical quality and progress during production trials.
- Addressing production issues and taking appropriate actions.
- Evaluating technical issues in relation to specifications.
- Approving technical issues after evaluation.
This role requires a high degree of independence and self-reliance. Additionally, result orientation, quality awareness, and planning and organizational skills are crucial. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong technical insight.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Materials Science (HBO level).
- Experience in highly regulated industries such as aerospace, automotive, or medical is a plus.
- Experience with turning and/or milling processes is highly desirable.
