Backup Engineer - Linux/Unix - NetBackup - Storage - Networking - 12 month contract - Glasgow Hybrid (3 days onsite)

I have an immediate opportunity for a Backup Engineer with a strong background in designing and implementing data protection solutions for corporate clients. In this role, you will be responsible for developing strategies to safeguard company data, ensuring reliability and efficiency in backup environments.

This will suit someone with Veritas NetBackup product knowledge but has a background working in integration rather than sole backup administration, and experience in delivering projects and working independently.

• Proven background in backup engineering within corporate environments
• Strong skills in backup solutions such as Veritas NetBackup, NetBackup Flex 10.x.
• Experience setting up backup environments from scratch and knowledge of Storage, Networking and various OS environments
• Strong Unix/Linux experience is also expected
• Scripting skills (Python or PowerShell) beneficial but not essential.
• Cloud exposure is a plus.
• Comfortable working with ambiguous requirements and translating them into efficient solutions.
• Able to think on their feet and adapt to new challenges and take ownership of deliverables
